Piracanga Shorts and bikinis, bright sun; smiling faces, dancing in circles; darker nights, bonfire, sound of mantras in the air; star gazing and the night swims; rushing to the sessions, never on time; long conversations and the feeling of falling in love; the spark of revolution and changing the world. . Last summer days, the rush of waves, early morning swim; one last stolen coconut from the farm; timid kisses, longer hugs; knowing that you might never see these faces again; the final good bye.

…and blurry eyed, they embarked on another adventure. Faces red, some smiling, some crying, some both, they embarked on another adventure.

And I judge from that Elysian freight that all they ask is rougher weather and dory & master will sail by fate to seek for the happy isles together -Robert Frost

It was with a great impulse that their journey began, to unknown places and alien lands. They traveled for 28000 counts in a bus, their group of six with five others, to reach Salvador. Once the magnificent capital of Portugal's great new world colony, Salvador that night was immersed in the pre-carnival preparation. Amidst all the people clamoring on the streets, they maneuvered their way to one last Caipirinha.

The next morning was odd, for Luna, Phyllis and Sid had to bid adieu to the others and take the morning air route to Rio. David, Eva and Sun would join them in the Rio airport on the evening of the same day. In Rio, Phyllis decided to stay in the airport and Luna and Sid went out to explore the city… . Long bus rides and foraging for food; one more tapioca with bananas; walk by the sea; violet sky, the last summer sunset; People on streets and screams of Beija! Beija; them holding hands; them on the streets rushing to catch a cab. . 10 PM, Rio de Janerio Airport

Our team from Salvador has reached the airport and is waiting inside.

Phyllis is still in the same spot as she was in the morning when Luna & Sid left; at the food court.

Outside the airport Luna & Sid are paying the cab driver for the ride. . 11.50 PM, Rio Airport

Everyone is the flight. The next stop is Casablanca.

You can do a lot in a 6 hour flight but our heroes are fast asleep. Casablanca

All arrive in Casablanca, tired but excited for their day out in the city. Sid and David are dreaming of sipping hot moroccon tea together as they walk towards the immigration counter. Little did they know that fate had planned something else for them. Sid and Phyllis got barred from going out of the airport as they did not have a visa. So, while the group of four explored the nooks and corners of the city, the two explored nooks and corners of the airport.

Arriving in Cairo

They touched ground 4.50 AM local time. Outside the airport, the sky was still dark; the wind was dry and dusty; their jet legged heads excited in anticipation of the roads ahead. They find a young boy who escorts them to the car which will drive them to SEKEM.

To be continued…
